Donating

As I continue creating and selling works of art and prints, I want to give back and support non profit organizations that do so much for everyone else. After all, isn't life about living and being kind to each other?

The organization that I am pledging to donate 1% of my sales to help out is The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF).

I know a lot of you are probably asking yourself, "Mito what? But why them?" Well, here is the what, "Mitochondrial diseases are a group of disorders relating to the mitochondria, the organelles that are the "powerhouses" of the eukaryotic cells that compose higher-order life-forms (including humans). The mitochondria convert the energy of food molecules into the ATP that powers most cell functions" and now for the why.

My little sister, since birth, has been struggling and fighting through this disease. Like many diagnosed diseases, there is no cure for Mitochondrial disease. She is one tough cookie and has a great support system around her, made up of family and countless doctors throughout the years.

Without the donations from companies and anonymous donors non profit organizations like UMDF would have a really hard time providing the proper assistance and care to people like my sister who are diagnosed and who have the symptoms of Mitochondrial Disease.

If you would like to donate to "Hailey's Hearts" (our team name) for the annual walk or directly to the UMDF you may. Every contribution counts! If you happen to take an interest in my art just remember that a portion of the proceeds are helping people in need!

Just to note, Purple is my sisters favorite color! :) As you look at my art and even my website, you will notice that I have started incorporating Purple in more of my art.
